UTM (virtualization for macOS)

This is how I run Windows on macOS.

The name stands for “Universal Turing Machine” (reference, which links to this comment).

Using it

• Get UTM from GitHub
• Click “Fetch latest Windows installer…” in UTM to get CrystalFetch from the AppStore, which’ll let you get the ISO for Windows
• Make sure to follow the guide: https://docs.getutm.app/guides/windows/
  • UNCHECK (as in “do not check”) “Import VHDX Image” or you will get driver issues when trying to install the OS
  • You’ll go through the CD/DVD thing by pressing enter as it’s booting up
