Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Microphone / sidetone is enabled on PC even with just music playing
Section titled “Microphone / sidetone is enabled on PC even with just music playing”This took the longest time for me to figure out. I had the headphones connected to my PC via Bluetooth, and I’d used Windows to disable the microphone on the headset. However, I’d still get ample white noise through the microphone that was presumably the result of sidetone, a feature enabled to let you hear your own voice while you’re talking through the headset.
The solution was to enable playback through the QC35 as headphones, not a headset.
Android won’t play audio at all
Section titled “Android won’t play audio at all”UPDATE: the problem is almost certainly that they were connecting to my Mac Studio even though it was asleep. When I had the computer forget the headphones, everything worked fine consistently.
Restarting the phone and forgetting the device didn’t work. I even reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth through the system settings (which makes your phone forget EVERY connection) and it still didn’t work. Then, I simply played audio with Bluetooth off, and the headphones worked for that one video. They still cut out after that and wouldn’t work for another video, so I just gave up and hopes that the problem would fix itself (maybe after charging the headphones even though they’re at 70%).
