Microphone / sidetone is enabled on PC even with just music playing

I had the headphones connected to my PC via Bluetooth, and I’d used Windows to disable the microphone on the headset. However, I’d still get ample white noise through the microphone that was presumably the result of sidetone, a feature enabled to let you hear your own voice while you’re talking through the headset.
The solution was to enable playback through the QC35 as headphones, not a headset.
